The Sins of the Righteous
#1
In response to a certain declaration, an open letter goes out, posted publicly for any interested party to see.

"How easy it is for the righteous to cast the first stone. And how easy it is to obfuscate and paint all with the same brush when one is supposedly free of sin. The one who investigated Prospera in the past found the most likely cases of witchcraft to be one 'Vokel Liadan', shortly before his attempted coup of Prospera. But those accusations were ignored, with the Aegis accepting him afterwards with talk of him 'redeeming' himself. How curious that the known criminal and known user of the drug known as 'Fantasia' are ignored in favor of others... But of course, recent events do indeed call for a closer look at Prospera, to make certain that there is no lingering rot within it. There is no escaping that. Prospera's tougher policy on policing for such corruption is a necessary first step. But, rather than wait to see what results, soldiers prepare. Supplies are gathered... Accusations levied."

"And of course, there's the matter of Minister Hayme... Exposing how she worked with Ludmaz, the void king. Nevermind that she was blackmailed, kidnapped, and more. It's far easier to paint the situation as whimsical impulse rather than the cruel exploitation that it was."

"However, even the Goldlight Order hosts its share of sins and skeletons. Or shall we recall the Nethradin sheltered by them under hopes of redemption? Why is that sinner not being hunted down? Why are they given a pass, as is Vokel, but the others are not?"

"If you make ready to march forces to war to cleanse sinners and take a moral high ground, be ready to be judged by the same brush. And be ready to judge with the same brush, as well. Do not ignore the rot within your allies simply because it is inconvenient or uncomfortable. I look forward to seeing your march upon Dawnstone in the future, Goldlight. Or, perhaps, there are yet other methods to use that don't involve massive loss of life?"

"I shall enjoy seeing what you do with the gaze of the world upon you. Are you truly the righteous, seeking to cleanse the world?"
"Or just sinners searching for an easy excuse to make war?"

The letters are unsigned, but a masked figure with hints of white hair had been seen putting them up.
