The original thread here, by Chance: Poll - 5 day years vs. 7 day years
While I made my own opinion known about how I think 7 day years would impact the game in a negative way compared to 5 days as a permanent change, I think that it could be doable in times of impactful war periods to perhaps increase the days to 7 per year for a few weeks (2-3 max) when there are major wars that would influence the state of Meranthe in a huge way.
Raids are more minor in comparison, so 5 days for those are fine. While they have goals, I feel that the destruction of cities, especially ones that have massive impact to game lore/world building, should be allowed for characters to have extra time in preparing and setting up to achieve their stuff.
There are times when schedules cannot allow us all to be highly active on our characters, especially around this time of year when college classes are starting back up, holidays are occurring, jobs are pressing, etc. It might help characters not to age up as quickly throughout and slow it down a bit around these trying times for IC.
My suggestion is simple - perhaps allow war arcs to have an extended IC time of 7 days per year for a few weeks - from the post of the war thread until a week or so after the war finalizes - just so that things can build up and settle down to give characters more time. It might help, too, if that war gets pushed back due to scheduling differences for players. I see it spoken about very often in the council chat, and the chronicles channel as well.
Maybe my thoughts aren't properly collected - it's going on 7 am, and I am without sleep right now, but the idea popped into my head and wanted to see what any of you thought about this suggestion!
Feel free to post away your thoughts and feelings below!
