Dreams

[Sahn-Uzal]

Whenever I look outside my window I’m greeted by the sight of a vast ocean framed by lush trees on either side.

 Leaves dance through the sea breeze, and I just stare from my empty room.

A desk and a bed, that is all there is to my name.

I live in this empty wooden prison, yet it is not my home.

Whenever I lay to sleep all I see is an unfamiliar ceiling.

Then,

I find myself on a boat journeying somewhere else.

The wayward leaves scattered to the air brush against my cheek.
No longer the same vibrant green as they were in the morning.

I look around only to be met by a world without color.

Without feeling.

Before me towers a monochrome island, its shadow consuming both me and my vessel.

But I’m not scared.

In this monochrome world without emotion.

Leading the boat is a cloaked figure, but no matter how much I call out they do not react.

When I reach out to them they do not react.

They stare ahead towards the island.

And the sun shines upon them.

Sunlight embraces them bringing color.

Then,

I wake to the morning sun.

The dream ends.

But is it a dream?

Or is it a memory?
