Stargazer

I can list the stars by name,

From Aritha to Altier,

I'm aware of the paths they take

Upon the bright blue stairway of Kraus

I can know the secrets of men

By the gleam of their eyes,

Those shattered thoughts, their strange whims

Have made this Stargazer sad and wise and cross.

Yet your eyes are ever deep

An endless pool upon the oasis of the sun

They call to me in ways the stars

Simply cannot convey or transmit

No matter their twinkle,

their shine, their intensity

I find I know many things,

But as the years come and go,

I shall die never knowing

The feeling I long to know the most

Eyes that sparkle

Eyes that shine

Eyes that pierce through me

Each a pair of worlds

Nestled beneath darkened brows

Each tell you their hurt

Each tell you their pain

Each tell you their happiness

Each tell you their joy

Each tell you how they feel

Even if the stars might fall

All that's left of beauty

Would be right here before me

The most beautiful eyes

That have ever seen

I sink ever deeper, wading through

So mesmerized, I can no longer recall

Those colors branded upon your iris

The eyes burning away perditions flames

The eyes show the truth

The eyes show the pain

They can never be mine

These things, so much more

than I could ever grasp

For I am but a Stargazer

And though I should learn to be

Content within my post

I find my legs floating closer

Into endless twinkling abyss'

If I am but a Stargazer

Then perhaps I can still my heart

Placate myself by saying

These are the stars I have been looking for

Oh Aritha and Altier
