Okay then! Weapons! They can be a touch tougher than hair and hats, but still are on the easier side.
Open up your weapon template in your favored editor. And you'll have something like this.

So, get your outline ready, and shading all prepared. I'll be using something I made for fun earlier. Notice the middle frame doesn't align perfect, but the grip still aligns with the base.
It should still work out fine as long as it is mostly matching!

Once you are ready, save the weapon as its own thing and pop open that converter. Hop over to the weapon one, and save all three.
The UI, the Over, and the Under. Over is what layers above your sprite, and under is what goes underneath. But we won't be worrying too much about those yet here.
But you might not be done. If your weapon is large enough, it will likely be getting cut off in the stab state! Open up the Over dmi and double click the offending stab state. Double check frames 2&3 and then drag the weapon back by however much you need. Mine was only by about a pixel luckily. Then, just copy the missing pieces from frame 1 and paste them back into place.
Voila! You've got a custom weapon sprited up!
