also adding to teemo's suggestion, i thought that the red psychosis could've been similar to how vampires used to temp people if they wished to do so on dangers/aggressives by just biting them. with a few ifs and elses it would be a good way to spread it around and make people give it more attention, while also giving some benefits to the psychotics (fire ap etc)

it would've been a good way to handle it, because i feel like i saw just a little bit of it and never again (in fact, i am unsure if it is still a thing now)
