Key/Character: Nefeli Caewynn
Which Event: Void Whisper's Reprieve
Responsiveness: 10. Everything was super super fast and the narrates responded to everything we were doing. Very engaging.
Balance: 10. Holy. Fucking. Shit. I have never puckered my asshole as hard as I did on this event. I really had to think about what I was doing and not be reckless. Nothing was overtly easy and I had a blast and was screaming all through the combat. It was incredible.
Storytelling: 10. It was a very engaging story, and the dev. Do not get me started on the dev this man provided. There was one scene where I had to pause and go 'holy shit this is three of my biggest dev boxes being checked right now.' Mal is also ridiculously good at allowing creativity and basing things off player action and dice rolls.
I don't think I've ever had such an 'anime moment' then rolling double 6's with my husband as we creatively overcame a boundary instead of succumbing to losing my morals.
Fairness: 10. We saw the injury table before hand and it was very fair, definitely a 'fuck around and find out' and we definitely found out a few times. The injuries were incredible and all tied very well to the event.
Overall: A few times it definitely felt like 'oh god I need to survive' over 'I need to fight' but that definitely is the thrill of a well done HCoD. The story was good, the fights were heart racing, and the entire event left us both panicked and yelling at each other and laughing hysterically.
Final Note: Fuck Jack. We will come to Hel and finish him there so he may never rise again.
