Character: Arioch
Which Event: A Healer’s Expedition
Responsiveness: The replies were quick and he responded to our interactions in character, making all of our actions feel rewarded for intuitiveness. There was a fair level of interaction which I enjoyed. 9/10
Balance: The balance of the fights were extremely fun- I actually feared losing the fights and they were challenging overall, especially as a melee user (buff armed). With constant adjustments, the fights constantly grew closer and more challenging 10/10.
Storytelling: With our actions being considered within the event, it was not stagnated. Being replied to for each of our posts for our ideas we had to get around obstacles or punished for making obviously bad decisions made it fun to interact. 9/10
Fairness: Allowing us to use items between fights or different recipes in order to bolster ourselves, going as far as to charge us coin for better rolls in the future was a fun change. (I got my coin back later, I robbed the guy's corpse after they died to an EC). Depending on our attempts to do things and how we helped one another- we were either rewarded or punished. 10/10
Overall:
The event was extremely fun overall and I liked the concept provided when entertaining the Deep Ones in combat. I was satisfied with my reward- though it is a dev item and I recognize the significance of it and what I am able to achieve with such an item. However, I cannot say that all rewards are created equal with what I saw as some of the loot table provided.
I do not believe risking several perms and deaths was worth what was essentially a 'fluffed arcanium kit.' Or sacrificing up to 40 vitality for a shield slotted +1 agi pair of boots. This was almost unforgivable and almost seemed like a spit in the face when considered risking what others and my own characters were in the plot. I will be completely transparent when I say if offered that same reward and I knew of the table compared to the risk? I would have declined coming entirely. This is not the fault of Didos, however.
Regretfully, considering the fun I had with the event, the interactions and intuition required to respond to events- the rewards were somewhat lackluster for some. Someone else had received a recipe, though what that will come to, I'm unaware.
I had an extremely good fun with the event and the interactions provided by Didos and I cannot blame them for the loot table. I just hope the rewards team considers this when providing future rewards and development items in exchange for the risk of the event.
