When my hatred for you waned, I found something in you that could be loved.
My naïve passion misled me, and it was only when I was given the clarity of a tranquil mind that I recognized how fortunate I was.
For everything I've done to follow the path laid out before me, I'm a transformed man, hardly human in the eyes of many.
My parents, my brother, what I could have been, who I could have loved.
I know that I have lost these, but still I was not robbed.
We must all make sacrifices.
I used to wonder how you could stand to be so reviled until I saw how you were adored.
The difference between hero and villain was which side of the world we stood on.
The journey to harden my heart was not to make a monster.
It was to help me stand fast when I bear their fury for the truth I seek to bring to the world.
I wonder when their hatred wanes..
..Will they find something in me to love?
