What is the measure of a true hero?
Some view a hero as an utter paragon of virtue.
A perceived perfection of the ideals of humanity.
Yet is that the correct perspective?
Should not the hero struggle to be,
to show others how to survive their own troubles?
Should not the hero have to face his own flaws,
his own fears?
His pain must be overcome,
so he can endure the pains of others.
He must draw strength from his own burdens,
so he may ease them from the shoulders of the weak.
A hero is not a marble statue,
carved and beautiful,
a hero is imperfect.
Yet must always strive to be better.
For that is the measure of their worth.
