Sense of rationality and self-preservation have been thrown out the window. Unfortunately, this mania is contagious and can spread to others, much like a plague. Whether it's via searching for the void or by attacking someone or anything that has made contact with it for the weather gets colder, a person's remorse seems to inspire them to keep going.
