1855 AC - The Year of Change

After the tragic demise of Jarl Vekel, Kark's Chosen, Aesirheim was left in a severely weakened state. Many warriors were lost due to Asphodel and Achyon's combined attack on the small nation, and the morale was low. However, a new Jarl was to be selected after the memorial to honor the fallen at Memorial Hill. There, the fallen would be immortalized in stone and visible to all of Aesirheim. 

During the election, the previous Jarl's adopted son, Rufus, was the next in line to the throne. However, upon feeling unworthy to fill his late father's shoes, he passed the throne to the previous Jarl's childhood friend: Vigr Dyr. 

One of Vigr's first acts was a message to Aesirheim's fleet, intent on bringing more of their people into the settlement of Aesirheim, on Esshar, to aid them in their quest to secure a new land of their own:

"Much has happened on Esshar. More battles have been fought, and more blood has been spilled in Kark's name. But we've held firm... at a great cost.

Brothers and sisters, the time is ripe upon these lands. As more buildings rise, and as our sights turn inward, the first of many goals comes within our grasp. Esshar is a land of bloodshed, of strife, of horror. It is plunged into turmoil, and our people have sought out a life in one of its most desolate corners. 

We have defended it with life and limb.

Come. Dock your ships as our port rises from the seas. Find lodgings among the sands. We will build a new era, a new life. and a new way upon these lands... and Esshar has learned that we will not be cast aside.

Blood and gold. Earn both in this land of opportunity, in the name of the Triumvirate."

♅ Aesirheim has finished preparations for the large-scale expedition to visit the Great Dragon Garjling with the Fireblooded.

♅ Despite the drought, and previous war, Aesirheim continues building up its city under Vigr's rule, in hopes of expanding their territory and reinforcing their nation in case of inevitable attacks by outsiders.

♅ There are rumors of the continued construction of the Bloodforge, and a need for more Crystal magi, alchemists, and artificers to aid in its construction.

♅ There has been a steady growth in Aesirheim's population, many warriors and refugees from lands across Esshar coming to join the settlement in hopes of a better future.
