A Fool's Thesis
#1
Below lies an excerpt from an essay written by
an ambitious biologist of the seventeenth century.

An approved request for a research grant funding a
scholarly trip to the reaches of Apropriya was attached
at its date of writing.

On the Subject of Immortality
Vol. 1

by Prof. Auberon Valdrin

...and so it is said such an affliction actually enables those of Apropriyan high society an eternal youth of sorts.
There have been countless attempts at truly coming to understand these people as a society.
A paper published by Hans Greiger in the mid fifteenth century does provide a great insight into how they function as a civilization, outdated as it may be,
but what of how they function at the molecular level? This 'Curse of Cain' may be something transformable, reproducible... alterable.

If one were to discover a way to mitigate the requirement for human blood, or perhaps thrive off of the blood of cattle,
would proper immortality not be something beneficial to the rest of mankind? Or, perhaps, at the risk of sounding idealistic,
a cure for the necessity of consuming any kind of blood whatsoever.

Free immortality, could it be possible?

It's a dangerous task, heading to a place like Apropriya to study her most chaotic and destructive of people.
I believe this pursuit will be worth it in the long run, though. Fail or succeed, it's important we know what is within the realm of capability.
In the realm of Apropriya dwells Humanity's only true, dedicated predator.
It must be overcome.
