Quote:"The first of many dragons has been slain. My appetite is not nearly sated. "
It has been five years since Stonehaven was carved out of the northern shelf of Mt. Gun Sgoth; much has changed since the arrival of the Crownforge encampment in Meranthe a decade prior. The fortress bustles with industry as once empty halls grow overpopulated with refugees of Koganarth’s liberated slaves and settlers from Ganlodur.
- With the return of the Crownbearer Orthys Crownforge and his heir Yurgir to Ganlodur to prepare for another bold expedition, Daggar Coaltooth has been charged as Lord Regent of Stonehaven until the day a worthy heir of the Crownforge lineage arrives to claim the crown. He had some words to offer to the growing outpost.
Quote:“We struck the earth, we dug deep, killed the hiver queen. Killed the drake. Killed a bloody dragon too. Ain’t nothin’ Crownforge ingenuity an’ Dwarven craft cannae achieve wit’ a bit’a spit an’ grease. The snow belongs to the Dwarves forevermore. The ancestors smile upon us.” - Lord Regent Daggar Coaltooth, the Thrice-Burned
-Previous restrictions and cataloguing of those possessing occultic magics have been lifted in lieu of the traumas endured by refugees; restrictions remain in place against necromancers who might disturb the honored ancestors, as well as any drakans who dare to worship the divine four. They’ve been warned.
- Following the mobilization of Crownforge’s forces against the assault on Enos by the Dragon of Dreams, Aisenliche, as well as his dread servant Mordeaux leading an assault on Stonehaven’s gates, the dragon of dreams has firmly been struck in the Book of Grudges, never to be forgiven. He remains the highest priority criminal of the Dwarven nation. The protectorate of Enos is maintained; word spoken of the Lord Regent’s invested interest in restoring the anvil of Ualdir.
- The Lord Regent seeks out those knowledgeable on SPIRITMANCY to mentor a Court Spiritmancer; a long missing and yet integral part of any Dwarven court seeking to consult the ancestors for guidance.
- After a perilous expedition to the lost Dwarven mountainhome of Koganarth, the great dragon Vaelryth was slain and the dwarven slaves freed. The Keeper of Crownforge, Vamir, as well as the Lord Regent himself were reported to be gravely injured by dragonfire. There were also reports that a great red dragon was seen departing the ruins overhead; his wingspan vast enough to blacken the sky.
- While many remained behind to help rebuild, those seeking revenge and possessed of martial fervor were extended an offer to fight for Stonehaven in the coming war of dragons, free to claim one of the myriad artifact weapons from the tyrant’s hoard. (Spawn-a-soldier unique premise soon!)
- With the changing of the Crownbearer too comes a reorganization of its ranks. Vamir has been appointed Keeper of Crownforge. The noble goat bard Neve has been made Royal Magistrate; Dagger’s second in all things diplomatic. The bold warrior Harolin has been appointed Commander of the Stonegard; recruitment has begun and it is said the Lord Regent offers to personally arm every soldier that fights for him.
Political Relations:
Temple of Enos: Our sworn protectorate; their peace is ours to keep.
Aisenliche and his forces: A grudge to be sated.
Everyone else: Potential customers, foes, or somewhere in-between.
