Established in 1566, the Elzara, an uttered Wylden phrase like the blades of leaves making up the mightiest of oaks, its ridges, spikes, collective in forming those canopies, has served as the Realm of Delphina's esteemed military force. Composed of many branches, the Elzara serves the monarchy, protects the peace of the Realm and forests of Nemea. From devastating mages, fierce swordsman, and poised archers of both Faeborne and other heritages has served the Realm during its early adaptions, changes, and reestablishment within the last few centuries. While governed by its Commander, the greater militia, of the Realm of the Delphina is oversaw by a newly instated Marshal of the Realm role which excels at greater organization of the military while too boasting certain magical prowess. Branches of the Elzara include the Ranger Unit, composed of skilled archers who are typically Faeborne, and the Royal Guard, whose duties revolve exclusively around the Crown's safety and tending, excluded from much of the Elzara's practices but still subject to answering to Marshal or Commander. 

 

Any citizen of the realm is eligible to join the Elzara, be it noble or common resident so long as they are at least sixteen years old. There are no such restrictions on one's heritage. The realm prides itself on its youth ability to enjoy their adolescence- though over the years it is due to the turbulent nature of young Faeborne emotions, the primary citizens of the Realm. Such children have no place in the military in representation of their people until they themself practice grace and temperance-- skills learned as a Leafscout as they begin to greater handle themselves. Newly instated members of the Elzara earn a wind chime to accompany them on their journey.

 

Historically, some Commanders include Commander Elanil Caewynn (2001), Cendaril (2003), Commadant (2005), Ynaselle (2005). Some events saw the Elzara temporarily disbanded... only to reinstate with Commander Rhys Valfalen (2012), Suzuka Hino (2023), Seth Valmonte (2042), Raenesa Vanya (2048), Elvyn Alinteau (2075), Mars Okabe (2082), Ria (2100), Elouan Niall (2110), Kakku Alinteau (2120).

 

The new structure of the Elzara was refitted by Marshal Kalione Meandersong for better organization, communication and fitting with the Realm's navy, the Suladari's own internal structure. Its flow of authority is as follows (as of 2168):

 

The Crown

Marshal of the Realm

 Chosen from Commander of the Elzara or Suladari, the Marshal of the Realm is the highest authority in the military save for the crown. The magi within this esteemed role governs the military as a whole, guiding its overall direction towards a bright, prosperous future. An especially seasoned individual from their time as Commander with the keen sense necessary to ensure overall smooth flow and innovation. There is only one Marshal of the Realm at a time.

Commander

 A skilled combatant with the seasoned years to show, the Commander commands the Elzara, leading its strikes and serving as the Realm's shield should any find itself foolish enough to tread too closely. The magi within this role is proactive to a fault, reliable with keen sense of strategy. All report to them, and they answer to the Marshal of the Realm and Crown. Cunning, excellent in communication and reigning authority over the might oak the bladed leaves make up. There may only be one Commander of the Elzara at a time.

Thorn-Captain

 Planners of strategy and operations, taking the Commander's wants, priorities and requests into account. So too do they plan training, manage discipline of lower ranks and arrange promotions for Leafscouts and Leafblades.

Thistlehart

Well-trained and reliable, and signifies authority over both Leafscouts and Leafblades. Some luxuries they might enjoy are commanding the lower forces when no other authority is present and training the freshest of recruits! They may promote Leafscouts when they are deemed ready.
