A particular weapon was mentioned, a massive slab of ebony steel and roaring noise.
Not so much a weapon as a power tool.

Who wouldn't want to own something that sounded that cool.
And of course, what better way to test ones mettle before applying for a dangerous job to recover such a thing wherever it was.
Of course, if there was one potential weapon who knew what else was between them and in, as no one had seen the thing in decades.
