The Atrellyan threat of invasion, death, and destruction looms ever above the nations of Meranthe. The tides of war march with the recent death of the King of Fortune to the Captain of the Deathwind Fleet in a vile act of Necromancy. Yet time marches forward, and with it, changes occur - some subtle, while others glaringly obvious to even those who do not pay heed to newspapers nor rumor alike.

Within the middle of the year, the announcement comes seemingly suddenly, but in truth it’s a predictable and inevitable truth: the passing of a torch. The former Oracle, Loramelian Ueda, is pleased to step down for his successor. With this news, comes a small declaration from the former Oracle:

“I am grateful to Oracle Thomas Equisol for the chance to retire. Of course, I shall continue to serve Gloomlight - simply in a role befitting my passion for magical research and innovation. I am satisfied that I leave my city and its people in the best of hands.”

With the announcement and the subsequent passing of the torch, the new Oracle immediately some of his own proclamations, yet not a speech:

◊ The official state sanctioned religion within Gloomlight and Unreality is following the doctrine of Athelios. All other religions, while able to

be preached and practiced in private, are not to be held publicly. As previously announced by the Pontifice, Falke Bargiel, church is mandatory for Aphrosi citizens.

◊ For those interested in following the Asperan doctrine or the more mysterious Ordinance, please speak to a Priest or Priestess. Some

examples include Loramelian, Miriam Equisol, Falke Bargiel, the Vice Chancellor of the Republic Lirael Equisol and the High Chancellor of the Republic, Melos Equisol.

◊ In light of the Atrellyan invasion, the Oracle has ordered a census to be conducted post haste of all magi capable of fighting for both the

Grove’s cause, as well as the Republic’s own. Along with this is a census of the Bastion as well, to account for Knights and Squires and who

needs to be more personally trained. For recruitment please see the nearest sign up point, or speak to a Knight or above!

◊ With Loramelian Ueda’s retirement, comes an open slot for the Oracle’s personal secretary. Yet it does not appear that the new Oracle is

currently searching. This may change in the future, however…

◊ Ksceniya C. Montelione continues to operate as Gloomlight’s Head of Research. Those who need advice, assistance, or a general

point of contact are recommended her way.

◊ There are open positions for Ambassadors to Serenity, Xuefeng, and some have even whispered a potential new one to Dal’thala.

Whether or not this is accurate is unclear as of yet.
