There is a new copy of The Quill available, with a peculiar footnote as the precursor to the morning's headlines.

I, Melionette, the writer, rescind all claims made in the previous copies of The Quill about Archduke Melos.

I was blackmailed and unforgivingly chose falsehoods over the loss of a precious life.

I am willing to make reparations if need be.

  

With that duly stated, the content of the paper spills back into the typical format.

 

2128AC's Heralding Rain: Aline's Retrieval

On the dawn of 2128AC, the embrace of Spring travelled alongside roiling black clouds and never-ending rain.
  
Underneath this sky, there was an effort to recover Aline Dominic at Atrellya -- yet at the hand of Demon Lykon, there were three casualties:
  
Eivor Ualdirsson, Exarch of Aegis
Known to me as a fierce warrior with fierce, devout beliefs and an unshakeable dogma.
A large power and guiding force of Skarnfel's expulsion from the continent.
  
Hina Lam, Chancellor of the Illuminated
Known to myself as an extremely wise, perceptive woman with a kind heart.
Most recently helped stop Aaliyah Tal's ritual, and carried close the blessings of Jiuweihu.
  
Ulysses, Soldier of Aegis
Known by myself as a warrior of Ualdir exceptional calibre.
His strength was proven in his achievement of vice-champion at the Aegis tournament.

  
Svengalf Sandsker, Champion of Life, will be holding a commemoration to celebrate and reflect on the lives lost.
 
A funeral for the fallen will also happen soon enough at the Aegis.
  
In spite of casualties, Aline has been successfully recovered, and is no longer under Lykon's will.

 

Lykon claims an Atrellyan Army will soon walk the lands of Meranthe once more.

 

Daughter of Mortyl: Salem's Return

 Salem has been brought back into existence by Lykon, Salem's 'chosen one.'

 

She is constrained by Lykon's will, the Demon having resorted to malicious means to bring her back. 

 

Salem now walks upon Atrellya. She is possible to contact, but any methods risk being intercepted by Lykon.

 

In response to these events, New Babylon has withdrawn its neutrality in the conflict between demons and humans and now opposes Atrellya.

 

Urano, Salem's chosen child, will no longer harbour any tolerance for any and all creatures like demons and necromancers.

  

Wolf of Red: Asena / Onmyoji's Return

Lykon has returned the long-deceased Onmyoji, also known by the moniker Asena, to the land of the living.

 

Onmyoji is an Atrellyan witch, initially killed by Ou Ken of Xuefeng.

 

The Demon King gave Lykon an urn which contained Asena's spirit, which has now been opened, her spirit once again allowed to roam free.

 

Onmyoji's crimes are innumerable, but they include:

  

Trying to make me sign a witches' pact and subsequently attempting to murder me (on multiple occassions.)

    

Murdering and beheading Qiao of Xuefeng after he offered his life on behalf of Ou Ken's own.

   

Encouraging, and likely committing, the murder of innumerable innocent retainers.

  
Onmyoji, in life, also sought out the goal of making cities bend to her will.

 

She once spoke of wanting to be a good enough retainer so that the Demon King would grant her wish.
