➤ Many of the island's inhabitants and its Night Creatures were slain in the War Without Reason. Newly produced ghouls lack the same manner of cunning and intelligence as the Aegis batch, more fodder than a notable force; perhaps due to a decline in the Lord Sage's reserves to cast such a powerful ritual. 

➤ The fortress lacks the capabilities for expansion and conquest. Indeed, the threat that was once on the verge of consuming the entirety of the west has been pushed back and contained, wiped out in its size and breadth. Meranthe's kingdoms are 'safe' from this Atrellyan horde on a global scale for a century or more. Unless...

➤ Many of the Ascendants and Moonfallen are still at large; Lykon the Wretched continues to forge cursed objects, and his research and experiments persist. Callitdas the Usurper continues to eclipse other swordsmen. The Moonfallen's many hands are encouraged to continue to reach out and work their manipulations into the Realms of Meranthe. These are very much not 'a hammer to a nail' problems as many have learned of the tenancy in All-Out Warfare; while the weak perish the strong become more notable amid the flames.
