The official release date for Meranthe is August the 5th! This is a tentative date, but there are unlikely to be any delays so get ready, tell your friends, and spread the hype!

The Major Highlights

PLAYER BUILDING: All settlements are built and sustained in-game with a versatile system that adds further value to the power of resources. Factions can be given their own custom, private style of aesthetics and the map team has full power to actively work on the live map to keep the world looking spectacular! The best of both worlds: living, breathing cities and the personal touch of our editors. 

CUSTOM PROPS: Moving on from the standard, coded tilesets, we encourage community involvement and give players the power to upload custom props with our flexible database system. Furniture, fences, path ways and statues, all at the click of a button if you have an original sprite you wish to add to the game. You can upload a custom prop as personal or public use. Of course, staff have the necessary control to edit or remove any prop in the game and maintain our excellent visual standards. 

CLASSES: Our class system is focused around support roles in particular. Necromancers harvest corpses to conjure player-controlled undead, able to enhance and upgrade them. Practitioners of black magic amass essence as a Coven to unlock forbidden potions and nefarious spells. Those of the Faith serve a diverse pantheon with differing ideologies, but what they have in common is their knack for blessing, healing, praying for others, hosting ceremonies, and ordaining new acolytes into their faith. These classes also grant capstone abilities as characters reach milestones. 

FOCUS ON IN-GAME PROGRESSION: By no means do we disparage our former application and journaling systems. Being able to digest a character's story when laid bare like that was a pleasure. But we don't want it to be mandatory and necessary for progression, and we have excellent solutions. Characters that are established at a high level (210+) and combat experience (10+) will be granted an additional Mastery Point. Most former mastery magic will be made public, and players will be able to purchase them if they meet the requirements. We will offer avenues for plot empowerment through a simple form and interest checks instead.

THE TOWER OF AETIUS: Built with the bones of a god, a thousand giants and a team that could make up a small nation, the first stones of the tower were laid. And higher it went, year by year, until it ascended beyond the clouds. It was made by humanity at the former home of the primordials that founded the realms of the netherworld. Its intricate rune gate system connects many planes and worlds together in a contained universe of its own. Explore the first few floors in-game with a stunning custom tileset and map, and uncover the mysteries of Aetius in event expeditions.

OVER FOURTY NEW SPELLS: With six new races and additions across the board to the magic trees, it goes without saying that such a massive update also pours love into the combat. Our focus on most new spell content is to make it action packed, unpredictable, and exciting, moving away somewhat from auto-hits with a plethora of finishers, waves, glitzy beams and the like taking centre stage. 

BOAT TRAVEL AND EXPLORABLE ISLANDS: Go chop some trees down and construct a row boat, then drag it into the ocean and hop aboard. You'll find many islands surrounding Meranthe to enjoy.

LIFE SKILLS OVERHAUL: You can now select a life skill to specialize in during creation, which doubles your EXP gain within it. Across the board, talents like cooking and fishing and farming have been given new content and quality of life improvements. 

DUNGEONS: Now with a dungeon system, if a character has the corresponding key and a party large enough they can explore a map and find a challenging, brutal boss. All for treasure and riches. With twenty four new resources added to the game, themed of the new world.

ALCHEMY: Seven new potions, including a Rebirth potion that allows a full respec if the character's level is below 200. 

ARTIFICER: Introducing the masterpiece tiers (artisan, master, and grandmaster), which acts as a tiered progression for the most talented of craftsmen. In addition to this, Dungeon Masters can spawn Special Resources that allows an artificer to create a unique item in-game by enchanting. These highly customized resources allow the DM to select the slots it can be used on and what stats it grants. 

DUNGEON MASTER: A host of new commands to empower the DM experience: Duplicate Item, Generate Light, Display HP, Local Friendly Fire, Status Sprite, Teleport Group...

TUTORIAL: A quest based tutorial system that teaches a newbie to buy an item, sell an item, craft a torch, defeat a monster, and battle a player.

RANCHING: Raise chickens from tiny chicks and keep them happy. Pet and feed them to maintain their happiness, which increases the odds of providing high quality eggs. Once they pass, you may bury them or harvest their meat. 

ITEM MODIFIERS: Ten unique passive modifiers that can be applied to items, either found as a public recipe or used to spice up event rewards. From reducing capture rolls, modifying injury durations, to more combat focused like bleed and critical chances, sprinting and moments of shrouded invisibility...

MENTORS: Trusted Mentor characters can teach affinities like Holy and Occult, the Medic ability, and the beginning spells of lore intensive 3-spell magic trees (such as Death, Barrier, Battlerunes, Golems, Fortuna, and Plague...)

As this is a new setting and a fresh world, we will have a number of starting roles for players to assume. These are currently not available to apply for but will be once we're closer to the time. The quantity limits are also not hard set other than Nephilim.

Role applications are officially open. Use this form to apply (you can select multiple roles)

Roles will remain open until the 5th of August. You'll be contacted via Discord on approval.

If applying for a noble leader, you're expected to make a post about your House in the guilds sub-forum, where players can read about it and also learn how to join in-character. As well as how they can become a noble member, if you're searching.

Note: a role isn't necessary. If you want to play a soldier in one of the three nations, for example, you're free to roleplay that backstory and organize in-game.
