Matryona pyr Aertas -- Free Will - ry0un0suke - 09-23-2020 ![]() There is nothing in life free from control. Your will is your own, but your will is for The Machine. You've no free-will. ❊ ❊ ❊
The Aertas family within Achyon houses many gifted children with potential. Mayhap model children but the youngest of them all was strange. Like the rest of her family, her interests lied in creation. Steel rivaled flesh in every way, shape and form. Yet, she didn't build, per se. Her hands were far too small and even delicate to construct heralded Barsburg machinery-- For now, at least. Matryona spent a lot of her childhood alone and away from her siblings. Flesh was weak, animals weaker, creatures far more feeble. Interest lied in machines she could not build but one's she learned to improve upon. She'd tinker in the corners of Achyon, a small, red headed child who certainly stuck out from her siblings despite never wanting to. Like everyone else, she fulfils a role in the Empire. All are to work and provide no matter their condition. Old, young, man, woman. Some should be worked harder than others. Animals, demons. If someone wished to feel special and beyond the reach of the Empire, then they will be grabbed by the Empire and all that they feel makes them beyond flesh and better than steel will be broken down and used. All is done for progression and order. The youngest of the Aertas family believed in structure first and foremost. Oddities bother her. Different features awaken an fiery anger within her that doesn't quite paint on her face. Her appearance contradicts itself greatly. While she seems like she should be excited, confident, lively, Matryona is oft off to the side and not the easiest of her family to approach. She looks fiery but is oddly quite cold and even rigid. Boring? Not even her siblings can get much out of her. But machines can, in the presence of Synthetics, she speaks quite a bit, voice with passion. She did for a while until wars and
Esshar's overall strangeness sent her away.

At the age of ten years old, when war still continued between her home and foolish men once bent at the notion of Kingship, the youngest left Esshar. It's not as though her presence was one to hold sorrow over, no. She packed her bags and wanted to learn in an environment she preferred. Here, there is order unlike any other. Conquest occurs and people bow and break to the will of that which is simply better than them. Steel, technology. She began with runewriting and soon transitioned her hidden passions to engineering and understanding. How can every facet of creation be used to further itself? Airships improve, but how can they conquer? Time away in the Capital then soon traveling to a particularly oppressive sector of the Empire inspired ideas she never would have realized when in Achyon. Matryona returned three years later after the turn of the century at the age of thirteen years, the year 1800AC, older, different... Far different than the ten year old she was prior, but bearing ideas quite troublesome to all of Esshar who enjoy their free will. It's a "Kraus given, Saekanis given, Aschea given, deity given right." The best part of rights, Matryona learned as she soon enlisted into the military immediately following her return, is that they can be taken away with the right amount of "convincing" and force.
Glory to The Machine.
