The Legal System of Antefinem's Democracy is dictated by the tandem of Councilmen of the Senate and Presidents - Past, Present, and Future.

Thus, it can change with each election cycle or event as time crawls on.

Recently, a series of bills have been passed to President Melia Hajrudin, for review. They are as follows:
The Protected Caravans Bill
Proposing Party: All 
Description:
Quote:- All non-hostile nations will be afforded a steady stream of mercenary assistance, to help bolster economic endeavors via the protection of caravans across Meranthe, with heavy focus towards trade with Antefinem directly.
(Antefinem will sell Influence at a rate of: 1 influence per 14 coins [After 50% Reduction])
- All allied nations with officially recognized trade agreements will be afforded economic protections at discounted rates.
(Antefinem will sell Influence at a rate of: 1 influence per 11 coins [After 50% Reduction])

Description: 
Quote:Antefinemite Troops will be routinely sent on patrol to secure safe passage from potential interceptors of seafaring traders to, and across the mainland upon its southern coastline.

The Fair Trial Bill

Description: 
Quote:All captured criminals will be promptly sentenced with an established and defined crime, associated with both time in captivity and labor. Criminals will be bestowed rights as citizens under prisoner limitation and be freed only if their time in captivity has elapsed, they are proven innocent post-sentence (with compensation), the local public votes on their release, they are pardoned, or have perished during captivity.

Description: 
Quote:All criminal activity (whether intentional or negligent) committed against nonmagus persons shall be treated as a criminal act imparted upon a magus equivalent, no matter the severity of the act. The presence of active magus magic, miasmas and auras of malefic, obstructive, or otherwise disruptive nature are banned from use in public setting, outside of a controlled magus arena. This includes, but is not limited to the open use of elemental, elemental-adjacent and ether-based magics.

Henceforth, the Bills shall become Law under The Melia Hajrudin Act of 2160.

The Uniformity, Dress, and Appearance Bill

Quote:- All Antefinemite Troops are required wear their choice of helm or hood, in combination with a Nightreaper Chestplate or Antefinemite Cloak, and Finilis Cologne™ while on duty or patrol.
- All official patrols will consist of 2 or more Antefinemite Magus troops at any given time.

Description:
Quote:- Tithes shall be referred to as Taxes.
- Tents, Encampments, & Campfires are abolished upon the land claimed of Antefinem. Boats and ships used for storage are exempt from scrutiny, so long as they are properly docked by the shore.
- All taxpaying property owners of Antefinem shall have maintenance fees 100% covered by the government.
- Tax Rate Increase from 335c/year to 650c/year
- New Tax Debt Threshold is set for 2'500c
- Property Owners that exceed the Tax Debt Threshold will be evicted, with all possessions seized by government officials
- Prisoners are exempt from taxes throughout their prison sentence.

- Relinquishment of right to possession of property for Antefinemite prisoners with sentences that exceed their Tax Debt Threshold.
- Mandated state reimburstment of material and coin for wrongful prisonment beyond legal sentence length

Corporate Lobbying
Tax Dollars can only stretch so far alone... Antefinem seeks to appeal to entrepreneurs and corporate entities across all of Meranthe to bolster its economy further. Thus, just as the government can be voted for, support can be financially swayed to some degree.

All passed bills will take effect immediately.

Quote:- Facilitation of Antefinem Government Grants to promising artificers for a chance to receive state-backed projects.
Approved appplicants are REQUIRED to do business with the isle & its citizens (at a reduced rate of 8%), and for a minimum of 50% of all foreign stock to be moved within their place of business(es) on Antefinem

It is officially signed into law as The Aundeoth Act of 2162, effective immediately.
