With most of the nation's veteran soldiers having retired in the wake of extinction, new troops are needed to fill in their roles and stand where they stood. Technology had been on the rise in the vigil. Golems line the streets, taking up jobs and positions that were once dangerous, reducing workplace fatalities dramatically. Many menial tasks were automated, freeing up hands to pursue more advanced pursuits- or to serve as professional soldiers. Even several non-magi, those with exceptional service records, had been pulled aside for secondary screenings and unnamed projects- all voluntary, so they said. Though controversy surrounded the Captain-General after a shadowy ritual intended to 'block the sun' over the Vigil, you saw years of preparation go wasted as international pressure forced a relocation. Perhaps you thought it was cool, or perhaps you thought it frightening. Though intent had been going around for a while, after a bounty placed by Ilumitar, a recruitment call finally went out in formal. Additional secretive and restricted equipment may be available to you. Things the public doesn't and shouldn't know exist. Unique item development can be conducted with the Grandmaster Artificer Grey and his contacts. You may be called upon in events being run for Goldlight, part of a national ambition For one of you, it was more than that, still. Her aid granted you many capacities unheard of in normal synthetics, a last gift from your creator's beloved grandchild. In modification to the above benefits, you are a Synthetic. You start with a discount in Shadow, and a penalty in Light, instead of the normal synthetic Metal/Bio discount/penalty. You have black hair, pale skin, and blue or green eyes- though something may have changed when you finally awakened. You are far more human than most may assume.
