Quote:
The essence-soaked ground of those who had fallen broke upon the boot of the Seer, passing through yet another destroyed village with horse in tow. This was to be expected; war was never easy on the weakest of people, on the unready, the ill prepared...

The ones most affected by wars and bloodshed, no matter the justice felt by its perpetrators.

The fortress on the horizon, battered and scarred as it were, stood defiantly against the encroaching night, with the balance of light teetered precariously over the waters edge... Giving way to the advancing shadows from the depths.

He walks, half marching in a practiced sort of way, the relentless rain falling around the broken villa like a sorrowful dirge, mingling with the discordant cries of crows which filled the air in a haunting symphony, an aria marking the end of an era of relative peace.

He was born in apocalyptic times. Yet there was distaste for others needing to suffer as he had. This place, reminded him of-

*Crunch, crunch, crr-*

As he moved past the skeletal remains of what was once a home, the faintest flicker of Fate caught his attention. He turned sharply, eyes narrowing on a tangle of debris that shifted... There, shrouded in shadow, he saw a small figure... A child...?

Ah.

This is You.

Daunte knelt down to you, then, drakonic slitted eyes narrowing as he helps unbury you from what could have been your tomb, within the cemetery of your old life. Placing you on his horse, he tells you this:

He will take care of you.
_
-
You will be the adopted child of Daunte Elysium, the Seer of Gala.
He is a drunk, seemingly by necessity, given where and how he was raised.

He only wishes to see you, who reflects his own origin in this world, become a better person
than he could ever be. Not all who are broken shatter, after all.
-
_
-
Though you are destined to die, as most all are, he will part the path till the very end, as best he can.
-
_
-
-You are a child from the now-ransacked outskirts, a village of non-magi; as blessed as you were,
your circuits miraculously activated during the worst of the attack, generating enough mana to help you survive the hellish
night of holy war and dread conquest.
-
_
-
-You will likely have a bit of a rough start, friend wise; your adoptive father is something of a loner, and isn't too fond of the art of making connections; you live in Mementos, however, and there is plenty of traffic; friends made organically last longer, or so he says.
-
_
-
-You will have the opportunity to follow your own aspirations, as your adoptive father would rather support your growth rather than hinder it.
Your goals are yours to pursue and accomplish - With his backing.
-
_
-
-You will be given gear, as it comes; Daunte is an accomplished artificer, and all he'd need is the materials.
-
_
-
-Your age will be Child; your race doesn't really matter.
-
_
-
-Spawn when you like.
-
_
-
-While your ambitions are uniquely yours, you will have unwavering support from the person who nurtured you. Every endeavor you pursue
will receive complete backing from your patron. You are not alone in this life of yours, and you will never be, so long as you will it.
-
_
-
-Your temperament and the allegiance of your family no longer matters, no matter which side they were on, if any; the slate is wiped clean.
Be you kind or cruel, innocent or vicious, your adopted father will guide your path as best he could,
so long as it does not push against his own personal principles.
-
_
-
As Destiny has a part in play for you, if you be strong enough to heed it,
his words ring in your ear as he trains you for your inevitable end.
-
-
-
'Fight if you must. Kill if you must. Just don't look away.
A hard gaze on life will see you through.'
