O' wintertide, doth slow mine steps. In season swift, mine strides hath leapt.
Winter in Meranthe is cold, harsh, unforgiving, all-taking, and moon white.
Winter in Meranthe is a slow slog, for as other continents need only last three months, Meranthe oft need last a dozen.
Mortalkind fretted the first Winter. Joy and abundance frostbitten by ghostly gales and grief. A question once echoed out: "Why is it so?"

To the tune of tea and melancholy an answer was delivered.
As the world froze over, the ticking of the clock stilled, the rivers aflow turned into sheets of ice, it gave Mortalkind a moment.
A moment to breathe hardship, drink of grief, stare upon a still world.

From silence was reflection born, and from pain were the fires of appreciation stoked.
And so in the deep midwinter, a tourney is to be held within the frosted wood to remember what is at stake.

.. due to some of Melionette's complex medical issues the tourney has been postponed indefinitely.
