The Bipartite Law (Void Entity) - Enginseer-42 - 09-17-2024 Background So it is said that in the earliest days of the Pantheon, following their victory in the Primomachy, the new Primordials divided the heavens. And Enarr, lord of the Ten, began construction of the realm of Vanaheim, a home for the spirits of the greatest of heroes in the furthest reaches of the heavens. And yet, such distant vistas were close to the void outside the world. That place of nothing that hungers to be something. To gaze into that emptiness is to create a reflection to fill it. And as he secured the foundations of his new realm, Enarr found himself accidentally looking into the void. For only a moment, the full force of the Lord of the Pantheon’s gaze was focused onto that emptiness outside the world. And though it was swiftly torn away, its newfound absence was not enough to kill that which its presence had created. A being born of the primordial, that wanted nothing more than to be reunited with that which created it. Thus was the Bipartite Law born. An entity of law above all else, even at the expense of order or civilization, this beings influence has been a plague upon worshipers of Enarr since time Immemorial, twisting the law into a broken inhuman thing. Cults of the Bipartite Law organize themselves into courts, taking on the trappings of law enforcement, particularly the trappings of priests of Enarr and at times with the least initiated members even passing as members of his faithful. Nonetheless, the deeper they mire themselves in the alien Law of the void, the harder time they have in passing for Enarrites. For though they might organize themselves as judges, only a fool would believe the laws they enforce to be true commandments of the god-king. Eight Edicts of the Lex Prima
The Lex Prima is the least of the Edicts of the Bipartite Law, and that which is followed by those souls who have only lightly made contact with the Law. A twisted Echo of the Eight Commandments of Enarr. As a cultist rises in the Law’s esteem, new Edicts blossom within their mind. Twisted gifts of the Law for it's favored agents of 'Justice'. And thus, no two cells enforce the same laws. |
