Darkened clouds billowed the skies.
Hope, a forgotten memory amongst the denizens of Meranthe.
Grim and bleak, hollow in their despair.
No, today was a different day.
A beaming sun shines brightly across the lands.
Birds perched on trees, chirping in blissful harmony.
A whistling, calm breeze, breathing life into the world once again.
As I returned home,
I was blessed with the news that my friend was finally free.
Her chains unshackled,
United with her friends and family once more.
Tears of joy trickled down my cheeks.
I could feel my heart race,
Thumping outside of my chest.
In spite of it all,
An indiscernible void lingers within.
As I lay here on this bench all alone,
No longer graced by your company,
I look to my right,
The seat you often claimed,
But only your absence, and a note left behind.
Why do I feel so sad?
