Scorched Spring - Nitsah - 05-08-2023

A forest fire is often considered a dramatic, purely destructive event. In their aftermaths, however, they release fresh nutrients stored in the litter of the forest floor. The canopy opens to sunlight, and new life flourishes in place of the old. They are not destructive, but transformative.
Many have left. You are unsatisfied with recent developments, and lack faith in the precarious future of Delphina.
This is not unreasonable- the transition of power was clumsy and crude.
You are not unheard.
Now, we begin the process of repair and regrowth, answering common questions and misunderstandings.



The regrowing saplings have been watered and nourished under the blood of the Queen. 
Like a seed packed with energy from its mother and planted, it falls to us to sprout.

In spite of instability and major setbacks, the realm of Delphina shows signs of life once more, its heart yet beating.
Queen Yvelle Vacerayne has been murdered. The assassin was not slick, and left traces. When we catch them, they will wish they had been the one to die that night.

A time of great reform is now upon us. As the Winter Queen meets eternal rest, Spring arrives.
By our hand, Nemea's beloved forests around Mount Pavonis have been purified and healed, our greatest shame corrected. The next goal is our very home, beginning now:


  • The Lightgarde will be restored, and its assignment of climbing and uncovering the truths of the Tower of Aetius will resume.
  • Nemea will have a larger place in the new Dal'Thala, where she was previously falling at the wayside. She will have the largest of the temples, where her shrine was previously placed in the shadow of Jiuweihu's.
  • The Elzara will also be restored and rearmed. In the times to come, they will be instrumental.
  • Artificery and inventions will take their rightful place as a centerpiece of Dal'Thala. It is art, and our inventions- mechanical, magical, runecraft, plant or whatever else- are to be proudly displayed. As a foreigner so eloquently put it, "make more cool shit." As such, expeditions even outside the Lightgarde's quest will be backed and supported in the name of needed knowledge or materials.
  • You, too, have a part to play! This list is not exhaustive, and will not have thought of everything. Send a letter to Aemiliya Alinteau and you, too, can solidify your guild and/or future within the Delphina of Tomorrow!

FAQ:

We are vassals of Vdalion now. Does this mean we are mere puppets of theirs? Will this last forever?
No, and no. It is nothing more than a temporary measure while we transition power and, as one man so eloquently put it, 'get our shit together'. If, once such a point is reached, we are not given our freedom back, then we will seize it. Delphina is not a realm in servitude, nor one of cowards. May this serve to prove such to the world, and to ourselves. In all likelihood, the attack upon Deephold will signify the end, along with its subsequent destruction.

How much power does Vdalion hold over us? Will we be forced to participate in any and all conflicts they do?
Very little. Our decisions are our own, and the our sovereignty is being actively exercised. In time, it will be returned in full. Outside of the agreed-upon condition that we will stand with them against the Deephold when the time comes, we will not be forcibly drawn into their wars. For a recent example, even when their very capital was beseiged by those of Deephold, we were not drafted. The same can be said for the attack on Aphros.
