Seeds of Shadow - Sanguine415 - 12-06-2022 Shaggard DeGray x Valette Montellione Your father is Shaggard DeGray, the giant Hofgothi/high priest of Vdalion. As much a loving patron of the faith as he is a ruthless master of intrigue, your father has been known for his shadowy dealings across the land, odd buzzing in his arm, and esoteric wisdom that is adhered to by most of the northern kingdom. A master smith and bearer of an ancient blade drawn from the depths of the tower, his myriad relics grow heavy in his hands as he reaches old age, soon to be passed down to his heirs that they might pursue their own destiny.  Your father did not often leave Vdalion, and so was an ever present figure in your life offering support for whatever ambition you sought. He refused to let you become a Zealot of Ymir unless you avidly desired to, for he did not get a choice when he was a child and would give his own spawn the option he lacked. Lesser known, Shaggard also grew up in the same orphanage as the Tal Samir, and they have lived in that same orphanage since they were children. There is a fair chance that the dark lord was oft seen brooding or napping on their couch, and Samir's haunting clone children would likely have known you well growing up. Your mother is Valette Montellione, the exiled polymath of the Aphrosian nobles and one of the more controversial figures of her time. A master riftmancer and alchemist, she is also a born Faceless of Aphros who turned her back on her city after her family was endangered. Though she wears a different face in the city proper, this is the visage she is best remembered by for most but an intimate few. Your mother would oft leave for adventures on a whim in the pursuit of the Wander Taxidion, but would always return from trips with myriad trinkets for the children. She long hid her identity to protect you, but as you grew old enough to understand, you were offered the truth if you sought it. Valette, who prefers being called her true name (because she is fairly certain that was the name her mother gave her), does not feel proud of her association with the Monteliones. She lied to them for most of her life and the reveal was difficult, to say the least. While 'Valette' will always be a part of her, she has made strides to discover her own identity. The children: Three slots are available, an eldest and a pair of fraternal twins. They will be open not long after the new year starts, and you may possess some unique qualities depending on the character concept at hand. If you are the eldest, there is a chance that you may be a Faceless with giant's blood, essentially Loki. There is a high chance that Athelios has been in your head from birth, and that you have always pursued your own seemingly arbitrary ambitions in the pursuit of some higher goal. You were not brainwashed by your parents, and your destiny would be your own. (You'd need to make a pretty damned cool concept and get admin approval for this, as rogue Faceless are rare and no one wants a corny concept. You would not be just a Vdalion faceless, you'd be Loki in every sense of the word.) If you are one of the fraternal twins, you can be either a giant or a human. Your father would treasure you regardless, and your mother would just be happy you didn't inherit her curse. If a giant or human, your skin might be oddly pale due to lineage, and perhaps are a little bit unstable. Just as Ymir intended.
