Quote:"Yes, I suppose you'd have to venture where none still dare to. Where even the Lich's fleshcrafted monstrosities do not roam."

"The heart of the Achyon, no?"

"Well, I should not have too much of a part in it. But I am pleased to start you on your journey."
War. War never changes.

Achyon, the city of progress. A beacon of the Empire's ambition and a monument of the corruption of its intent. Renamed Pauper by the Dread Captain Tigerseye Reave and the arch lich Nidaz Vanreth, it was destroyed in a glorious inferno by the detonation of the Phoenix Chamber, the masterwork of the legendary soldier Marcel Delisle. Once a symbol of technological ascension within the backwaters of Esshar, the cataclysmic meltdown turned what remained of the city into a shattered swamp of remnant architecture, skeletons, and dust.

Yet such an explosive release of Ifraheimic mana did not fail to leave a mark. Countless vile experiments, leftover monsters, shattered synthetics, and immense amounts of magical radiation were plunged into the depths of the black, scorched earth. Mutation, untapered malevolence, and all that remains of Achyon's depths were swallowed by the sink, coalesced and scattered deep under the swamps that guise the primordial evil below. The endless sludge of flesh and machinery that, like a primeval soup of flowing genetic material, gestated in the darkness where no one dared to travel.

A terrifying place, and one anyone with flesh would be wise to avoid if they didn't want to join the graveyard of the lich's sins. A crypt no mortal man would dare to pursue.

Godfrey and Veles were not, however, mortal men. They were synthetic, and their will and form were unshaking metal.

Coaxed along by the insights of a mysterious stranger, the synthetic innovation and innovator finds himself leading an assembly of his fellow machines deep below the depths of the tomb of Achyon, the dreadful sink below, to pursue the past, that they might understand the future.

But some stones are best left unturned. And some holes best left unexplored.

I can host this if you don't mind waiting until next week sometime. Otherwise it's still open for other DMs!

Didos showed some interest in it, but I'm not forcing him to do it unless he wants to. No rush, so if he doesn't want to, I'm down to wait Captain.

The Sink has been successfully destroyed; its remains collapsed inwards by the efforts of its synthetic warden. The research has been secured and chronicled, and everyone got hats too.
