RE: A DM with OneBrainCell - faecy - 05-31-2023

Character: Thallia
Which Event: Delving Below

Responsiveness: very prompt, concise writing. predominantly present for the duration of the event and providing space and multiple opportunities to interact with the environment.

Balance: definitely felt challenging with a good incline! the riddle was so fun, it made me wonder what more little traps or smaller brain teasers might've been like!

Storytelling: https://youtu.be/yh_vYvcQEkw?t=34

Fairness: in terms of pacing and adjusting the difficulty curve, they honestly could've been a little meaner.. but i was excited and on the edge of my seat the entire time anyways so it was also v thrilling still :>>

Overall: 10/10 the descriptive writing reminded me of some past nightmares and the attention to detail with the pcs involved was incredibly compelling. superb event, excited about + fingers crossed i get to see more onebraincell productions  Angel

RE: A DM with OneBrainCell - Metrice - 05-31-2023

Character: Fabbondel Ethrian
Which Event: Delving Below

Responsiveness: 10/10 Expedient and thoughtful responses, couldn't levy more praise.
Balance: 10/10 the balancing was more than fair. Bosses were challenging, thought out; difficult combatants. Something that was stressful, and fun!
Storytelling: 10/10 Once again, nothing but praise. It was excellent, details a plenty. A plethora of creepy, ghoulish nightmares to enjoy. It was everything I'd been hoping for, well described, and fun! Will be looking for you again, iffin' your available next time I'm in need of an event!
Fairness: 10/10 Not a single qualm with the Fairness, in fact I felt they were a tad too fair at times. We even redid the last boss fight so the boss had a chance, otherwise it wouldn't have felt fair to the DM! All in all, excellence abound couldn't recommend more.

Overall: 10/10 Really, can't add much else than I already have.

Any other comments: Stay frosty out there! You're doing great, LOVE the details. And I hope others get to enjoy the pleasant, friendly, and wonderful experience that is your events. Thanks again!

RE: A DM with OneBrainCell - Capriccio - 06-02-2023

Character : Phasmid
Which Event : Delving Below

Responsiveness: 10/10 Throughout the entire 6+ hour event responses were quick and really high quality.

Balancing: 10/10 It felt appropriately challenging with things ramping up the further we got into the events. There was also a nice variety in types of challenges from puzzles to fights to an actual maze we needed to find our way through.

Storytelling: 10/10 The event was wonderfully atmospheric being grim and dark which was perfect for the setting. Each boss felt like something that crawled out of a Dark Souls game with their own personalities and lore while being absolutely terrifying.

Fairness : 10/1O A few people couldn't make the event so the DM had to readjust things last minute but they did a great job with it. Battles were difficult with the sense that you could go down each round if you weren't being careful especially the final one.

Any other comments: 10/10 on the DM's patience while watching the party struggle for over an hour to answer the first puzzle because none of us understood how moon phases worked.

RE: A DM with OneBrainCell - faecy - 07-30-2023

Character: Amelouth
Which Event: The Depths of Dreams
Responsiveness: lots of personalized narration, present for the entirety of the >5hr event, and incredibly responsive!
Balance: the pacing had a bit of everything, scene-setting, themed riddles, exploration, interactive environments... incredibly fun and varied rp experience!!!
Storytelling: each individual in the party was incorporated into the overall narrative of the event omfg i'm still getting tears in my eyes j thinking about it. absolutely above and beyond, got a lot of character development i'd never expected with the route amelouth has taken and i can't imagine anything more to ask

Fairness: the personalized approach to the event was uniquely individualized based on their characters, and it was especially interesting to how that dynamic leveled out with the overall arc of the event

Overall: 11/10

RE: A DM with OneBrainCell - Metrice - 07-30-2023

Character: Fabbondel Ethrian

Which Event: The Depths of Dreams

Responsiveness: Quick, concise, and well done. All around super happy with their events, I've been on several at this point so always happy when I get the chance to hop on another! BrainCell was fast in their responses, and gave us an exciting environment to explore. Really pleased with this one.

Storytelling: Amazing storytelling, I was super pleased. Like always, loved it from start to finish. Expedient as this one was compared to others, wouldn't have missed it. Was great through and through!

Fairness: Things were incredibly fair from each boss as a perspective, as always the experience was well rounded and handled with care. Always a pleasure to work with BrainCell, they make an awesome DM! Great stories, bosses, and good at handling the party. 10/10.

RE: A DM with OneBrainCell - Mimickry - 07-30-2023

Character: Odele
Which Event : Depths of Dreams

Responsiveness: 10/10. They wasted no time, and gave very personalized responses based upon the interactions that every character made with the strange world of dream-logic they built for the event!

Balancing: 10/10 Very fairly balanced when considering the various challenges. Feeling similar to that of a Dark Souls-y challenge. You can definitely beat it without going down- But it's unlikely, because if you slip up, those blows are going to hurt!

Storytelling: 10/10 It truly felt like the group was adventuring through a place that did not make sense in regards to normal laws of reality, with manifestations of the characters' innermost thoughts and fears popping in. (Don't punch magic mirrors. I learned this the hard way.)

Fairness : 10/10 Not much to say here. The puzzles were fun, and the Balancing comments explain the rest!

Overall: 10/10. Fantastic event, and likely my favorite one I've ever been on.

RE: A DM with OneBrainCell - TheEternalFlame - 10-25-2023

Character: Evate Hiraeth
Which Event : Let's make a Deal

Responsiveness: 10/10. Was quick with responses and answered questions just as quick

Balancing: 10/10 Love me some puzzles, love me some combat, there was both and neither felt like an overwhelming challenge to the point of loss fun.

Storytelling: 10/10 felt like a good ol' fashioned dund adventure, traps and puzzles and fighting with just a bit of banter in the mix :)

Fairness : 10/10 Not much to say here. The puzzles were fun, and the Balancing comments explain the rest!

Overall: 10/10. Fantastic event, would go swamp diving again

RE: A DM with OneBrainCell - Carbon - 10-25-2023

Character: Mystara Bonlark
Which Event: Lets make a deal

Responsiveness: 10/10 - When I play this game, I tend to do other things on the side.. I also type relatively quickly (at my own expense, sometimes). With how I interact with this game, the responsiveness was perfect. Sometimes it was quick when the action was happening, other times it was a little slower to give us all a little bit of breathing room.

Balance: 9/10 - A good balance of risk vs reward was established early, bosses were fun and memorable. The lost child may have been my favorite of the bunch. Bosses could've been maybe a little stronger, however...

Storytelling: 10/10 - Excellent dev material which extends beyond just regular perms/temps to wound and influence your character. The marsh felt alive and atmospheric, I loved it.

Fairness: 10/10 - We played it safe and rolled pretty high for all the rolls. if we hadn't? I'm sure things would've been much, much grimmer.

Overall: 10/10 experience, would go again. Glad you're getting back into DMing

RE: A DM with OneBrainCell - Taurus - 10-25-2023

Character: Erebath Hiraeth
Which Event: Lets make a deal

Responsiveness: 10/10 - Even though I wasn't fully active during the event, as I was called unexpectedly, I remained attentive to the narrations and how they were responded to, and well, I have no complaints. Responses were as swift as the posts were made, always creating that sense of 'Are we doing the right thing?' drama. I 100% enjoyed it.

Balance: 9/10 - I felt like Lydia from Skyrim. I existed for the combat! The battles were enjoyable, the boss introductions were quite impressive, and how things would unfold step by step - I still think they could be a bit more challenging. But it was rewarding, I liked it.

Storytelling: 10/10 - In my opinion, it was the highlight of the event. I believe it had a significant impact on all the characters present and generated a substantial level of dev!

Fairness: 10/10 - It was like an RPG board game. It wasn't always about combat but rather the dice and the actions taken in the story. Fortunately, the group was lucky, and we didn't have too many 'casualties' with injuries and such. At the end of the day, everyone left happy (some with a bit of trauma, but nothing that a little therapy can't fix).

Overall: 10/10 - I'd 100% choose as a DM, especially if you're running events focused on character development. You can be sure that you'll have impactful and 'key' scenes for what you're aiming for. Expect some pretty good stories!

RE: A DM with OneBrainCell - Davetopia - 10-25-2023

Character: Evelyn Nightshade
Which Event : Let's make a Deal

Responsiveness: 10/10. Was very fast with responses, and always produced quick answers to questions.

Balancing: 10/10 love me some quality combat and some good riddles. Didn’t feel like it was unbalanced at all, felt natural, tense but fun as hell.

Storytelling: 10/10 The best way to explain in simple terms is that it was master crafted by the Marquis themselves.

Fairness : 10/10 Extremely fair and easy to get along with throughout the event. Did very well to accommodate all players.

Overall: 10/10. Wonderfully made event. Thank you for having me on this adventure.
