The Megadolon's Tomb
- Declaration Post -
For some weeks, Delphinian reports indicate a stirring of trouble. A lone ship is spotted lingering some ways off the coast of the Tomb's archipelago, and sailors reported noises and infiltrators upon the shore that same night- though, summarily, they were warded off by the guards on duty. A time passes until this incident's ugly nature reveals itself.
Alarms are raised off the coast just before staccato cannonfire rips into the coastal defenses of the island, a lone privateer's vessel bombarding them from the ocean. Moments after the start of the attack, a combination of portal and rift disgorge magi attackers upon their shore, waving the banner of Hallow's Pass and led by the Queen herself. Their goal becomes clear in moments as rowboats make landfall carrying barrels of gunpowder: Steal everything that isn't nailed down, and destroy everything that is!
OBJECTIVE: PILFER & SABOTAGE!

Your Nation (or Guild) - Gloomlight Grove
The Area You Control - The Depths
Thanks to the interest and investment of one of Gloomlight's noble houses - House Montelione - job contracts are established and taken up by researchers and miners who venture even deeper into the mine north of Gloomlight. While they had initially discovered Ether Crystals and then further down, Telluric Iron, they were hoping for new discoveries that would simply be underneath rocks and layers of history...
Would they find anything?

Your Nation - Aetius
Your Captain(s) - Uralai
Resource Claim - Glimmer Lake (Caethir occupied)
Declaration Post -
Almost one year has passed since the noble Steward of Caethir found themselves confined to Aetius territory. After fraught negotiations for the better half of Summer, Aetius issues its decree via courier.
Uralai Wrote:"To the Crown of Caethir,
After a year of overtures, your refusal becomes a choice, not negotiation. Decades of service rewarded with abandonment. First Franz--discarded and now Kieru--neglected.
Given scarce choice to resolve this, you can consider the following the ransom payment so both nations may move on.
You have seven days to evacuate Glimmer Lake. Comply peacefully and Kieru Ackerman is returned, his attack against us forgotten."
A countdown follows.
Seven days for Caethir's researchers and soldiers to withdraw from Glimmer Lake. Seven nights for Caethir's leadership to decide, diplomacy or battle.
On the eighth day, mages of Aetius will gather north of the rainbow lake, armored, and waiting for the decision on horseback.
The strategy is simple, minimize unneeded casualties, and should Caethir contest, battle them magi against magi, away from the precious remnants of Mestra.

Following the Suladari's initial survey of the area fabled to be site to lush undersea caverns once home to an ancient menace of the surrounding Herald's Sea, the fruits of what would be discovered there would ensure further expeditions in the years to come. Shipment by shipment, relics of ages past long lost to the tide and sea-life unknown to any contemporary record have been delivered to the homeland ports of Delphina, indulging the curiosity of researchers and historians alike by the discretion of royal patronage. The viridian kelp studied to this day for its potential in medicine, the magically lustrous scales of the rare gilderfish, and even the preserved pearls of a long-extinct species of oyster are made the talk of deckhands entrusted with their handling and the noblesse eager to be entrusted with their study.
The labyrinthine sprawl of tunnels beneath the waves may yet hold secrets to be uncovered. Navigation a cautious challenge even to the divers of Sirenia seasoned by the prior twists, turns, and veils of kelp and silt obscuring the way. Even still following the repulsion of the interloping bandits of Hallow's Pass it would only be a matter of time before the final truth could be picked from the exaggeration of shoreside rumor. The question answered in the early months of the year 2166: Does the heart of the so-called Megalodon yet rest at the end of this maze?

Much time has elapsed since the Lifestream first ached; figures of a pearl garb transporting crates of enigmatic origins. Much time has elapsed since blood and magic stained waters off the coast of the Shadowlands, marring it in the unforgettable stench of battle. Despite showers of peace pouring mercy across the Fissure's surrounding region, those same waters have been anything but still. Confidential research has been underway, conjuring whispers and questions from the masses without hope for response. Yet as of late, the preliminary seal has been broken. Panes of glass are erected for those daring enough to take a gander at affairs once obscured.
Cumulative excavations to the Temporal Fissure have garnered riches, prestige, and invaluable history as to a shattered civilization frozen in time; an overwhelming success as deemed by the Headmistress of the Crescent Isle, Pscaela. Like a fervent ripple, the aftermath has permeated throughout the Isle, and beyond- recording a period of positive economic expansion. Rare and soon to be unobtainable coveted goods line the stalls as many flock, beckoned by the invisible tug of a child-like curiosity. The exchange of money, goods, and ideas are only the beginning of a new prosperous age. As resources begin to dry, and investigations recover relics lost to time... the Isle awaits with bated breath until the last secret is uncovered.
Silence has been broken.
Let no stone remain unturned.

Your Nation (or Guild) - Gloomlight Grove
The Area You Control - The Depths
It's been some time where the exploitation of The Depth has continued without a hitch, with the workers unearthing the many minerals hidden in the deepest part of the mines, yet after a while, it was time to go further once more, to seek what is hidden in a new depth that is yet to be explored.
Researchers and earth magi were employed and progressively worked together to bring out to light what more secrets remained within the yet to be fully explored mines, and as of recent, renewed efforts were placed along with additional costs and equipment, thanks to the research division employed within Gloomlight, to progress at a much faster pace than before.
What would be the conclusion to their efforts is not fully known, yet the intention to go through with it continued regardless.

The same march of time which has covered the fragments of Meranthe's history in dust and ash may yet bring the hands to sift them through to the present. For better or worse...
The Fallen Frontier (152,868)
A landscape shorn by chasms cut to forms both natural and uncanny, natural erosion of eons past exacerbated by the sudden spatial calamity which marked the end of the Final Frontier. Scattered beneath the surface of the deep canyon below and wedged within oddly carved buttes left as the sole memory of what was previously ground level to a whole city may be presumed to be remnants of the Proto Institute's many infamous vaults and magitechnical experiments, or perhaps even the relics of the Church of Heavenly Blossoms' original home.
Mt. Grimjhall (869, 773)
The volcanic heart of the bygone Empire of Vdalion. A place of pilgrimage and history caked and cast in layers of ash and obsidian, each marking fates no less incendiary for all who have thought to claim it in the stead of the Giants. Haunted sporadically by lingering strays of living dead made from the final occupants, shadowed by the clouds of bleak and bitter smoke overhead, lit solely by the flows of molten stone which stream over the slopes and cliffs.
Brigand's Bazaar (338, 599)
Smugglers of things illicit and dubious from near and far ply their trade by the less frequented waterways of Meranthe. The precise times and places they meet prized information to both those with an interest in partaking of or stamping down upon the trafficking of rare drugs, dreaded poisons, and pieces that someone somewhere doubtlessly and sorely misses from their purse or even person. Those with the plethora of strings to pull for it may find themselves savvy to the exchange of things one would be hard-pressed to find from more ''upstanding'' vendors.

The stirs of restlessness that coaxed the Dwarves of Clan Crownforge to strike the earth in their mountain fortress of Stonehaven once more finds purchase, as the influx of settlers from Ganlodur and the distant hills finds idle hands without purpose. A deathly sin in Dwarvish culture, and one that cannot be tolerated for long without descents into madness, or further madness in the case of older graybeards.
The ruins of the giants and their ancient war; the once-sovereigns of the far north, would be excavated with the care of the finest miners and masons of the Stonefolk; carefully examined for the dramatically large civilization for insights of a lost culture and its history; forebears to the very claim the Crownforge Clan held in the north.
As holy lands of Ymir's chosen, and the sight of the disturbed dead of bygone wars, efforts would be made to offer due rest to any remaining dead with care; their deeds and death scribed in slabs of stone that they might pass on with the knowledge they are not forgotten; their history and doom upheld faithfully. The most daring of miners are sent into the depths of sunken stone and lava to dredge out lost articles of ages long past.
Stonehaven would seek to claim and restore Mt. Grimhjall. (30K Influence)

The sound of treasure and opportunity echo across the land as the secrets of the world are laid bare. Whisperings of the once prosperous final frontier being uncovered have been heard.
A bevia of non-maji, sorcerer, and soldier alike coales together for a singular purpose. That purpose is to find a reliquary of technology that could shape the future of Meranthe 's progress.

Nation: The State of Arcadia
Captain: Itzli the Warden
Resource Claim: The Fallen Frontier
Sent: An excavation team consisting of archaelogical specialists with a large security detail consisting of Arcadian soldiers.
The banners of Arcadia rarely ever fly alone, separate of the Elzara and Suladari. Even more surprising, however, may be the old banners of the very nation this team is excavating. Not so many, perhaps, have considered that a sizeable diaspora of the Frontier's citizenry had become the foundation for Arcadia's flourishment. Even fewer, perhaps, may remember the origins of Koretheia and Azalea Aubreen, and their roots in the Church of Heavenly Blossoms. Relics surrounding Solais and Alacritas abound, as well as the potential to secure some of the Vault's more dangerous contents - to keep safe from those who would abuse what was left behind.
With the heavy claim to legitimacy over the heritage of the storied city, Arcadians are rallied. The force sent out to secure the site is numerous, and their intentions clear.
