Come one, come all.
...Their fortunes haven't gone anywhere...

A storm always prepared over the very horizon, like one sent from Hel but never truly touching upon any shore. Distant and far away- Is it even there anymore? Years have past, decades even yet the life of a particular witch hasn't depleted. No stake claimed them, no holier than thou crusade. Esshar occupied itself in petty wars, the lands experienced a vile plague that took few promising apprentices from them. They've kept a close eye on the coming tribes ever since. Esshar evolved before their eyes, changing for better or worse. It turned itself into a battleground then a playground. Disaster left all sides battered and licking their wounds, repairing what was once lost. It's not out of fear that the serpent eyed witch watched from the shadows, brewing something... pleasant? Something foul? It certainly smells like cookies and people have been known to disappear for a few days or weeks even when they stray into dangerous woods. All are returned, unscarred physically but plagued with nightmares and nonsensical babbles. Some speaking of prophecies and others swearing up and down that they saw one of the High Angels and Saints. Many believe they're gifted and a deity's chosen when they wander out of a far away serpent's nest. One could say they've received the most "divine" of fortunes possible.

It isn't like wine in the slightest. Age did not improve the Supreme witch Jianyu Xi. Much like a constant rot that refused to leave, they grew and tainted all around them. Fangs threatened to sink into any who cross their path. Still do they bear a scowl, one aged quite a bit. Venom poured from their tongue, flowing without care of who it is that it meets. Do rumors of fortune and prophecy wiggle through a battered, repairing Esshar? It's as though a whisper guides the most lost of souls to where they may even get the chance to encounter a vile, wicked woman. All in life is a gamble and test of courage and fate. Those with nothing to live for take no risks, as backwards as it may seem. One could say someone with nothing to live for will take the biggest of risks. Both extremes are welcomed, perhaps even lulled by a quiet, gentle hiss into what will ultimately be their doom.

Travel the woods with upmost care and caution.
People don't leave the same.

If your soul is lost, perhaps you hear their call.
