For the better part of the year, repeated attacks have been reported to be happening on the therian mountains. Though the precise nature of the attacks seem to vary wildly, several common topics have been agreed - it begins with a cold mist that takes over the section of the mountains before a figure that proclaims itself to be "The Nightmare" appears. 

Rumor has it that the attacks are being caused by the disgraced Warlord of Destruction, exiled of Theria after being bested in combat by Bastiel, its current ruler. While osronans and other parties are known to be granted safe passage even at the Nightmare's appearance, it's said that therians are attacked indiscriminately and ruthlessly, targetted by claws and fangs alike, akin to the assault of a wild predator. 

Prominent magi of the settlement are have been found to be victims of these assaults, but nonmagi are in no less danger. A therian caravan is said to have arrived recently, most of them half-eaten corpses being carried by the few wounded survivors, claiming to have been attacked by the Nightmare, but nothing was reported to have been stolen. Those that had survived the initial assault died of blood loss a while after.

Hushed whispers claim the assault will continue for as long as Bastiel claims rulership of the mountain settlement. Whichever the objective is, it's certain that these attacks will continue and new rumors will spread.

New Attacks by the Nightmare

New rumors continue to spread as the Nightmare continues to make the therian mountains as its hunting grounds. Prominent citizens were made as victims of the continued assaults, including, amongst other citizens, a member of the Golden Flame. The most recent victims, however, were the mercenary duo that remain stationed in Theria, Dinant and Dornar, who are all too known in the mountain settlement.

During the assault of the mercenary duo, a bystander was able to make a sketch that only further strenghtens the rumors for it to be the disgraced Warlord of Destruction, Lynette. After feasting on the flesh of both of the mercenaries, the Nightmare made its message clear:

"For as long as Bastiel rules, Theria will bleed."
