This could be an OOC method of sparing an enemy while sticking to the IC of killing someone. Could even give the option of applying perms based on the captor's discretion!

I just feel like this'd be such a cool way for people to be able to say that they are sticking to their IC while giving OOC courtesy to budding characters.

There’s nothing that prevents you from doing this; you don’t have to kill your caps; you can inflict a perm, RP kill them, and move on with your life.

This is actually a nice alternative to killing, and good roleplay can come from it. tickets are not necessary but you can always do so if you want an admin there or have any question.

It'd be neat if there was a way to perform the fake kill in a way that made it look OOCly like they were actually dead. A fake corpse that gives no Undeath, but can still be buried. They go to a 'not-actually-dead' box with a merchant and a luxury merchant, and the NPC that warps them back to spawn lets them change their name so we can really get a 'Fake your own death' arc.

maybe not change name but a disguise or something?

Just something small I've noticed in the game. But I feel it is a glaring issue, in guild chats they show your true name. Now I know we want to have good faith and trust everyone, but if that was true we wouldn't have disguises to begin with. I feel that when you join a guild, it should show the name in which you joined it with. If it's joined without a disguise, it should show said name. If it's joined with a disguise? It should show that name, to me I feel this would be a much better way to conceal ones identity.

(Just noticed ACuriousGrey's post below, this can be disregarded! I was unaware it had already been addressed, my mistake.)

This has been acknowledged by Chance, and has been described as an issue that he can't fix very easily. iirc it says when you app for a disguise that guilds will show your true name.
