【  THE   FINAL   BATTLE  】

Myllenoris (+ Coalition Military) vs. Osrona

========

The Incursion (Pt. 2) | The Battle of the Shimmering City

1741 AC

The war against Osrona rages on, despite the recent, dramatic events that unfolded within the city. After successfully taking the lands that once belonged to the Empire of Esshar, Myllenoris and her allies (formerly called the League, now the Coalition) boxed the Shimmering City itself in from all sides. The city has been starved for the past year. Trade is impossible. Only small, covert parties are able to move in and out of the walls. The Coalition's strategy has been to strangle the city and sit tight. Day by day, Osrona's supplies dwindle. They grow weaker with every passing month; their only choice to bide their time to build their strengths and prepare for the inevitable final push.

Defeat after defeat has cost the Empire more than just men; a drought of food and money has gripped Osrona. The bulk of Osrona's armies can no longer be paid. But instead of diminishing Osrona's fighting numbers, the circumstances have bolstered them. The people of the city, commoners, nobles, merchants, farmers, actively volunteer to participate in the defense of their home.

Meanwhile, Myllenoris has suffered diplomatic failings with the remainder of the Coalition. Some member states have pulled out of the war entirely, and others threaten to join the other side. Confusion and disarray has plagued the Coalition's military. The bulk of the forces around Osrona are now comprised mostly of Myllenoran soldiers. Teraphim, humans, druids, even some drakanites have been rallied for the final push.

On the night of a new moon, dozens of strange, magical trees will sprout in a full circular formation around Osrona. Blood-red in color, the roots of the trees will dig deep into the earth, and sink the foundation of the walls of Osrona. The walls will not be completely demolished, but large sections will be collapsed. The final push begins then, as tens of thousands of soldiers flood the streets of Osrona and begin close-quarters battle with the remnants of Petrakis' forces.

This battle will determine whether or not Osrona is captured by Myllenoris and her allies. If it is, surviving Osronans will either be captured, or forced to flee into the countryside and abandon their homes. If Osrona is successful in the defense, they will drive the Coalition's armies out of Osrona, and rout them completely out of their lands, back to their Greatwoods. Back to the Therian mountain range. Back to the forests, deserts, wherever they came from.

This will be another "Battle Royale" with unfixed matchups. The side with the most wins after a certain amount of time elapsed will be the victor.

There'll be limited participation on either side.

Because of the stakes of this battle, this is going to be a high cap event. Cap 2 or higher is recommended on all matchups!

With the conclusion of the 'Final Battle', the forces of Myllenoris have sieged Osrona. Notably, Therians left the city following the death of Asta Hargrave in a duel against King Petrakis, with the Teraphim present giving orders to kill them all after the fall of their High Lady. The resulting chaos could only be described as a night of destruction, with many men, women, and children butchered by the present army, buildings set alight as the knights present did their best to evacuate the helpless (many of whom were offered sanctuary in one of their territorites prior).

Many prominent magi passed in the battle. This includes: High Lady Asta, Lord Regulus, Lord Basten of Ilburg, Cymbal, Radiant Andrew, Fu, Mikael.

OOC:
- Osrona is now occupied by a sizeable force allied to Myllenoris. What this entails structurally is in process given the chaos of today's events.

- The occupied forces are granted favored capture rolls within their newly acquired territory for now, though rebellions can be organized if desired. Currently, they can cap 0 someone to 'force' them out of Osrona, as well as what's outlined on the rule page. (Knights/Clergy can be captured on sight / Should not return for at least several days OOC)

- With their capital sieged, cities and towns once loyal to the Petrakis begin to falter; opportunist barons rise and take control, others pledge loyalty to Myllenoris. A number remain loyal to the monarchy, however. (A village has been added, Nysea, to the captured lands, to give refugees a space: 200, 700, 1)

- Theria & Mylennoris gain arcanium (10 for the former, 20 for the latter) to be divvied up among their prized fighters (a small portion of the war spoils). No more than 3 per person and it should be based solely off of war activity.
