Mourning of The Deep - Neighpalm - 07-13-2025

Winter, 2179AC.
Quote:
The expedition led by Duke-Marshal Kalione Meandersong into the realm of Hel lorded over by The Mori had been a success. Without casualty, the goddess Galene had been freed of their century's long imprisonment by the Marquis, their Trident, Ganymede's Rebuke, recovered in tandem.

If the old myths are to be believed, it was Ganymede who first used the Trident to seal the Mori's spirit within his domain, with the Priestess Liveyal's help later, which is why the corpse of the firstborn son of Galene still stood with broad shoulders protecting the artifact within the dark depths of His domain.

And if they are to be believed, then in removing Galene's Trident from his domain, did the expeditioners free the Mori?

Off the coast of Nereides' northern shore, fisherman have spoken of something waking in the deep. As large as a city, creating whirlpools and tsunamis with just its far-off underwater movements. As though the plates of planets themselves were shifting.

Larger than a leviathan, as inky as a midnight sky without stars. Darker than blackest black.

Something was coming towards Delphina, searching for the stolen goddess.
