Holy Equivalent to Soul Drain - Food - 03-15-2020
Maybe adding a long range slow for holy would be cool too.
Instead of Dr reduction it lower enemy AP? Plays well with the more defensive style of holy. Reverse of the occult offence. Tossing ideas, it could be something completely different.
There's no holy intermid spell to grab so I was thinking we could keep the parallel themes going with an equivalent. If there are better ideas, discuss here. I just think adding a holy hidden that isn't unavailable or some super buff/aura would be coolio.

There's the 'Smite' homing that was in the original Holy tree. A variant of Soul Drain that lowers AP instead sounds good.

I was thinking of something Seals away power, Since Soul Drain reduces Enemies life force and leaves a -dr instead this spell "Seal of Light"
Could reduce AP with another effect

Not every spell should have a mirror version, imo. Otherwise we’ll run into the same issue of holy and occult just being bland recolours

When it comes to other spell trees I agree but when Holy and Occult are involved I think it's fine. When that's exactly what the lore says they are...Their opposites of the same spectrum having similarities in these two trees. It doesn't really seem like a bad idea seeing as the lore supports it. But that's just my take on it.
Light vs Dark Good vs Evil is a mirror that will always be a theme in any medium. But that being said if there are ways to make them different and more unique to each other without making one stronger I'm all for that too.

As Kane said, the trees are opposites. Their tomes pretty much have an equivalent to every spell.
Shadow Ball - Light Ball: literally the same spell.
Light shield - Dark shield: literally the same spell except light shield has a lower cd because reasons.
Both dark aoes - Both light aoes: literally same spells with either AP gain or DR gain.
Life drain - Mend: one takes HP from the opponent to heal, the other heals you and your allies. Take vs give. I like the opposite theme here.
Curse and that second shield holy has are kind of the only ones that diverge.
Valor's Light (I think it was Harmonic Attunement before) - Death Magic: are both exalted top tier auras that are essentially level 2 of their base auras.
Dark Guardian - Titan of Light: literally the same spell.
I think an equivalent to soul drain would be good. It's doesn't HAVE to be the same as soul drain or even have the same effects. But adding some cc to holy could be a good thing imo as it lacks any intermid spells.
Edit: I do kind of agree that if they had more differences, it'd be more interesting. But this does seem like a safe way to make one tree not feel overall superior to the other. They both have their benefits without diverging too much. Prevents people massively favouring one side.

also since they diverge into mutually exclusive advanced trees (light and shadow) one will always maintain an advantage unless those advanced trees r also identical
